Happy International Day of dis-ABILITY.
This is a pic of my brother Tom. He has an ability to make us all laugh and be a bit of the family joker, he loves going on long hikes (so long as pesky gates do not lock him out) in his head controlled electric wheelchair.
In my practice I see lots of Kids with disability – they have a range of nutrition difficulties including issues like- poor growth, feeding problems and may require tube feeding, altered texture diets, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, bowel issues with chronic constipation or diarrhoea, extreme food aversions or fussy eating, and obesity.
If you have NDIS funding, make sure any nutrition needs are written into your goals for the year. We see kids 0-18 years who have a self managed or plan managed NDIS plan.
